I have actually already sent an email to that list (I saw the Qld SIG on there and immediately got jealous) but I haven't yet received an email back. Possibly their contact form is broken or they just haven't found the time.
Another cool magazine is Robot Magazine. They had an article on petrol powered robots recently which piqued my interest. Think of all that power!! :)

Another of my little hobbies is electric cars. I have one 1/4 built. :)
I know how much power is in a litre of petrol.
But as an interesting aside to gas-powered robots, how about this Russian thing (I saw it years ago, but the guy still seems bent on selling it):
